OBJECTIVES

  • represent and promote the common interest of the construction legal fraternity within SA
  • encourage the adoption of modern and efficient legal practices in SA and ensure more efficient administration of construction matters
  • improve and promote the proficiency and competency of its members and the fraternity
  • provide an open and honest forum for the exchange of views on matters falling with its ambit
  • engage with any national or international organisations to benefit the aims of SACF
  • engage and make representations (as required) concerning the teaching and practice of construction law
  • provide educational opportunities through regular events and debates
  • create a holistic space for the construction legal fraternity
  • promote transformation within the South African construction legal fraternity

The South African Construction Forum (“SACF”) is a non-profit association which creates a space for the construction legal fraternity, its development and transformation.

Membership

Membership is open to lawyers in private practice, advocates, adjudicators, arbitrators and experts. Membership is not open to in-house counsel. Members must actively practice within the construction legal fraternity and by virtue of employment, and have a genuine interest in construction law. Membership can be either individual or group membership (where there are more than five individual members). Individual membership is R1500 annually and group membership is R1200 per person for groups of more than five per company.
